When Anzi is blindfolded by a criminal in manga issue 4\Toei series episode 2: Yami Yugi defeats the criminal and Anzu later comments that she has thinks " she'll never forget that voice, after all she's fallen in love with its owner."
After the Duelist Kingdom arc and prior to the Battle City story arc, Yami was set up by Yugi to have a surprise date with Anzu. He was at first mad at Yugi for invoking him, but then actually had a good time with Tea. Even dueling a local gamer for hurting Tea during a DDR game.
